Our Day Pass Program Gives You Access To Ronald McDonald House Central West to Recharge
Available to families who have a child aged 18 years and under, receiving treatment in the Paediatric Ward and Special Care Nursery at Orange Hospital.
To be eligible to visit Ronald McDonald House Central West on a DAY PASS, the PATIENT receiving treatment must be a child aged 18 and under in the Paediatric Ward or Special Care Nursery.
DAY PASS IS AVAILABLE MONDAY TO FRIDAY (EXCLUDING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS) DURING THE HOURS OF 10AM - 2PM
OUR DAY PASS PROGRAM IS LIMITED IN NUMBERS AND AVAILABILITY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT SHORT NOTICE
We have a communal kitchen and dining space stocked with meals for families to enjoy, a free laundry including washing machines and dryers, and a comfortable lounge area with indoor and outdoor playground for children.
Supporting families is at the centre of what we do. Our 'home away from home' allows families a chance to have a break from being on the ward at the Hospital.
Enjoy complimentary snacks, tea and coffee and a nourishing meal prepared by our 'Dinner in a Dash' partners. Our kitchen facilities, dining and lounge areas are a great space to recharge and relax away from the hospital.
Comfortable living area spaces including our Teenage Retreat with XBox, Foozeball table, Library of books from Children and Adults, Enclosed Garden with Outdoor Playground, Weatherproof Indoor Playground, Toys and Pool Table.
We also have complimentary essential items for families such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby wipes and deodorant if needed.
Our House is a welcome respite from the stress of the Ward - we'd love to welcome you to enjoy some time away from the Hospital at Ronald McDonald House Central West.

Ronald McDonald House Orange is located an easy 275m walk from the Rear Entrance of Orange Health Service.
We are situated across the road from Western Care Lodge and accessible through the walking path between the bowling greens of Orange Country Club.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Unit is also within walking distance of Ronald McDonald House Central West.

When will my DAY PASS at Ronald McDonald House Central West be confirmed?
- Your Day Pass to visit Ronald McDonald House is free of charge
RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CENTRAL WEST is a 'Home away from Home' for families who need to travel over 25km so that their child can receive treatment at one of Orange's three hospitals.
In addition to our Day Pass we have accommodation available for those families who have travelled more than 25km to Orange Hospital.
To be eligible to stay with us the PATIENT receiving treatment must be a CHILD AGED 18 AND UNDER or a WOMAN diagnosed with a HIGH RISK PREGNANCY.

Cost of Stay
- Your accommodation at Ronald McDonald House is free of charge regardless of how long you will be staying with us.
- If you live over 100 kms from our facility in Orange, we bill the cost of your stay directly to IPTAAS (Isolated Patients Transport and Accommodation Scheme).
- IPTAAS is a Health scheme to help families. You will receive a travel subsidy from IPTAAS, straight to your bank account.
- If you need any assistance filling out the form, one of our Volunteers or Staff members will be happy to assist.
Room Availability
- As our House can run at very high occupancy rates, we cannot guarantee the availability of a room until 24 hours in advance of your stay.
- We will call you the day before your arrival.
Escort requirements for high-risk pregnancy:
- High-risk pregnancy guests MUST have an adult (18 years or older) escort with them at ALL times.
- You cannot spend time in the House unaccompanied or stay in the House alone if you are a high-risk pregnancy guest.
- This is a National Policy of Ronald McDonald House Charities designed for safety reasons with NO exceptions.
- Please ensure you can put these arrangements in place before arrival.
Children
- All children under the age of 18 must always be supervised during your stay.
- CAMHS patients are not to enter the kitchen area beyond the gates.

- RMHC Central West is located within the grounds of the Orange Health Service at 1502 Forest Road, Orange
- A map is attached to assist you find the House.
Check In
- Is between 12pm and 4pm on weekdays.
- After 6pm at night.
- By appointment on weekends.
Parking
- Secure on-site parking is available at no cost to guests.
- Your room key will allow you access to open the carpark gate.
What to Bring
- Ronald McDonald House Central West is primarily self-catering.
- Basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, cereal, and condiments are complimentary.
- Some food items that have been donated from local suppliers will also be available.
- Generally it is expected that families will provide their own grocery items and prepare their main meals in our modern and well-appointed kitchen.
- We have organistions that come in and cook up for our 'Dinner in a Dash' Program – some basic home style meals are available for you and your family during your stay.
- All linen is supplied for your room including sheets, towels, blankets, pillows etc.
- Linen is changed weekly on Fridays.
- No electrical cooling, heating or cooking devices are to be brought into the House.
Pets
- Pets are not allowed, and they may not be housed in vehicles belonging to guests.
Accessing the Orange Health Service Hospital
- RMHC Central West is a short walking distance to the Hospital
- Staff and Volunteers will give you directions on how to get to the Hospital on your arrival.
We trust your stay with us will help ease the burden of your concerns at a time when your child is unwell, or you are accessing specialist medical care for your baby or unborn child.
